DANIEL ORTEGA AND HIS LIFETIME
RULE OF NICARAGUA.
Some of us really remember this guy and his actions with
the FSLN. It seems his vision of a future for Nicaragua is only based on him running
the nation. Like any Dictator, you have to stay in power to have power. He even
made his wife Vice President. He’s also had a few other stunts over the years, such
as declaring his Christian faith. Not bad for a guy who ran a Communist, Terrorist
movement. Why does Daniel Ortega warrant
me talking about him? In the big picture
of things, what does it really matter? Nicaragua is in a new phase of public
uprisings, but this time, Daniel is on the other side of the event. This time,
Daniel is the Dictator grabbing people off the streets. So, once again, why
bring this all up? Because it’s that part of the world the US better start paying
attention to. It’s the only part of the world the US may continue to have a chance
to influence.
United for Liberty:
It seems the new, more youthful Communist
movement in Nicaragua sees Daniel as nothing more than an Old, Capitalist
loving Dictator. My oh my, how times have changed. Here is the more interesting
part about “United for Liberty”. When you look them up, you see how much of
their funding comes from the outside, but not like the old days. Not from Cuba
or Moscow, but from other movements, movements that have go fund me accounts set
up to help the young, Revolutionaries in Daniel’s beloved country. So what does
Daniel do, why of course, he has these youthful traders rounded up and in many
cases, murdered. Times don’t seem to change. It seems Daniel, like all good
Communist and Socialist, believes in the redistribution of wealth, just not his
own wealth. So, here he is today, rounding up the “common people of Nicaragua
just like his adversary, Somoza did, but it’s all in the name of keeping the
nation safe, just like Somoza said. This whole thing must be driving him crazy.
Who is paying attention?
If you search CNN, you won’t find a relevant
story about the status of Daniel’s homeland and you won’t until there is some
pathway to a story about how The Donald has screwed the US’s relationship or
the events taking place there. Fox has a few stories about Ambassador Haley
warnings, but other than words, it’s hard to tell what is taking place behind
the scenes. The bottom line is, the US continues to focus on the Middle East,
Asia and Europe as it turns and looks over it’s head for a second or two. Now,
part of me says, let Daniel drown in his own spit, but the problem is, the US
will once again let someone else influence the future of that part of the world
that really does matter.
So, what can the US do? How does the US react to the
events in Nicaragua and not make things worse? By the way, the US has a strong history
of doing just that. How does the US, “pay attention”, without screwing it up?
First off, a united front towards the region would be a huge help, but that’s
not going to happen anytime soon, perhaps ever again. Aid is out of the
question given who the aid would go to and who it would be spent on. Arming the
resistance is the equivalent of arming the Communist who are fighting a guy the
world still sees as a Communist Champion. Could that be it? Could the plan be
to make things in Nicaragua even worse? Fuel to the fire? Let’s hope not. The
US went down that trail in the past and all it led to was a river full of
bodies.
What kind of Virus is this?
In the typical world of analytical threat
analysis, the IC has, or is, painting a picture to be briefed. Is what is
taking place in Nicaragua dangerous? Can it spread? Can the events in Daniel’s
homeland spread? What is the stability of Honduras, El Salvador and Costa Rica?
In the big picture of things, does Daniel’s plight rise to the level of concern
that is taking place with Venezuela? Here is the real question the IC must be
ready to speak to. Is Nicaragua worth the effort? To me, there is one absolute way
to answer that question. Who else is looking at this event? What enemies are “watching”,
or “plotting” based upon any leverage that might be gained? Can Nicaragua
become part of the Belt and Trap….. I mean Road Initiative? Is there anything
about the events in Daniel Land that might bring further damage to the US? I
will say this. There is one sure fire way that goal can be achieved and that’s
by the US doing something stupid and keeping the so called “Experts” in DC from
forming up an elaborate, stupid plan is going to be the biggest challenge for
The Donald. For now, until someone spots someone else attempting to leverage
the protest there, the best plan for Nicaragua may just be, to do nothing. When to jump in, how to jump in and how hard
to jump in, those are the most difficult parts of this story. It’s just for
that reason, the US’s attention to that part of the world must increase dramatically.
